Pat J. Rennie

Pat J. Rennie, age 82, of Erwin, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center with her family at her side.
Mrs. Rennie was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Wildwood, Fla., to the late Augustus “Gus” F. and Mary Ethel Powers Stallard. She was a registered nurse, and she retired from Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in 1992, after 21 years service.
Mrs. Rennie was a member of Chestoa Baptist Church where she was a long time Sunday school and Bible school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen “Tommie” Powell and Gussie Rachel Stallard Fowler.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 62 years, Vergil H. Rennie; daughters: Sheryl L. Hall of Mount Juliet, Mary and Terry Bailey of Erwin, Brenda and Rick Newman of Erwin; granddaughters: Ariel Rennie and John Biggs of Clarksville, Julia Moore Hall of Knoxville; grandson: Matthew Adam Taylor of Erwin; sisters: Janelle and George Conway of Sebring, Fla., Mildred Moore of Erwin, Mary Lou and Walter “Sib” Helms of Monroe, N.C. and many nieces and nephews who she adored.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Hilemon officiating.
A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chestoa Baptist Church Missionary or building funds, P. O. Box 547, Erwin, TN 37650.
