Naomi Bryant Honeycutt, age 91, Marbleton Road, Unicoi, went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, June 30, 2013 at the home of her son.
She was born in Yancey County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late David and Mary Phillips Bryant.
Mrs. Honeycutt has been a resident of Unicoi county since 1961 and attended New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Unicoi for as long as her health permitted.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Joseph Honeycutt in 2003; one daughter, Shirley Silvers; one grandson, Allen Smith, one son-in-law, Burl Smith; four brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by one son, Kenneth Honeycutt and wife, Gail; two daughters, Doris Jean Smith, Mary Ruth Hill and husband, Richard, all of Unicoi; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Orpha Woodby, Burnsville, North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service for Mrs. Honeycutt will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Peterson Cemetery, Green Mountain, North Carolina. Reverend Norman Lovelace and Reverend Dallas Gregg will officiate. Special music will be provided by the Caris Hospice Chaplain.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Hill, Bradley Ellison, Daniel Honeycutt, Joseph Honeycutt, Corey McInturff and Jeff Smith.
Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Honeycutt's son, Kenneth, 125 Gilmon McInturff Road, Unicoi.
Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
