Nancy Lou Duncan

Nancy Lou Duncan, age 66, 806 N. Main Avenue, Erwin went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Ms. Duncan was born in Washington County and was a lifelong resident of Erwin. She is a daughter of Allie Lane, and the late Clyde Wilson Lane . Ms. Duncan was a member of Embreeville Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, and she loved her family very much. Other than her father she was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Lane.

Ms. Duncan is survived by two sons: Michael Simmons and wife, Jenny; Shane Hawkins and wife, April; one step-son, Danny Duncan, Jr. and wife Carla, all of Erwin; one step-daughter, Christy Kelly, South Carolina; two brothers: Roy Byrd Lane and wife, Shirley, Erwin; Kenneth Lane and wife, Angela, Jonesborough; three sisters: Phyllis Pendleton and husband, Robert, Lacrosse, Wisconsin; Verna Bailey and husband, Jack, Gray, Elizabeth Salling and husband, Tim, Erwin; two granddaughters: Hailey Hawkins, and Madison Duncan; six grandsons: Alan Simmons, Ryan Simmons, Hunter Duncan, Colton Hawkins, Hayden Duncan, and Devin Kelly; one great granddaughter, Allison Simmons; special friend, Linda Tolley, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Duncan will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 8:00 pm from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel.
Reverend Kevin Holley and Reverend Kim Casey will officiate. Special music will be provided by Danny Miller. Pallbearers selected by the family are Billy Woodfin, Cody Cole, Ferris Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Jack Bailey and Tim Salling. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral service between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 pm and other times at the residence.

Committal service for Ms. Duncan will be Thursday morning, April 24, 2014 at 10:00 am in Garland Cemetery, Erwin. Those attending the service need to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 am.
