Mike White, age 59, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. White was a native of Unicoi County and is a son of Hargus Darrell White and the late Hazel Mary (Hollifield) White. He worked with CSX as a Carman. Mike held the Free Throw record for basketball in Unicoi County and was inducted into the UCHS Basketball Hall of Fame. Mr. White loved working with wood products, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching the sunset at his cabin.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Michael White in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate. A visitation period will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 and will continue until service time in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 11, 2020 at Fishery Community Church Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 9:30 AM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Allen Peake, Todd Foster, Johnny Reb, Mitch Briggs, Marcus White, and Mark White.
