Mary Louise Strickland Higgins

Mary Louise Strickland Higgins, age 89, of 926 Prince Ave., Erwin, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence with loving family by her side. She was a native of Erwin and a daughter of the late John Frank and Kate Brown Strickland. She was a loving homemaker. Mary was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church where she also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by a son Darrell Wayne Higgins, Brother John Strickland, Jr., and Sisters Katherine Poe, Barbara Ann Strickland. .

Grandchildren: Heather Edwards, Shaun Edwards, Tiffany Gallagher, Jessica Haun, D.J. Henegar, Matthew Henegar, Christopher Wilson, Bishop John Edwards, and Angie Shelton;
Great Grandchildren: Mariah Edwards, Haley Edwards, Noah Silvers, Nehemiah Edwards, Katie Gallagher, and Gabe Gallagher;
Great Great Grandchildren: Madeline Hammer, Koraline Edwards, Logan Wilson, and Nathaniel Wilson;

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Mary Louise Strickland Higgins in a funeral service to be at 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards and Reverend Andy Patterson will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Mariah and Haley Edwards, by Mary Kay Bailey, and also by Tiffany Gallagher. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 PM and continue until service time on Sunday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those who will attend the committal service will meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery by 1:00 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be D.J. Henegar, Christopher Wilson, Matthew Henegar, Chris Gallagher, Dennis Henegar, and Johnny Henegar. Honorary pallbearers will be Shaun Edwards and Michael Haun.
