Mark Alan Wilson, 49, 114 Lincoln Street, Unicoi, died, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his home.
He was born February 19,1962 in Montgomery, Ala. to Frank and Sherley Miller Wilson of Erwin. Mark was a loving husband, son, daddy, brother, papaw, and uncle.
Mr. Wilson was a former employee of AeroJet for 13 years. He loved Nascar, football, and track. He holds the record for discus throw at Unicoi County High School. He was a member of Unicoi Church of God.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his brother, Stevie Wilson; grandparents: Lee Quillen and Ethel Leora Miller and Albert and Elsie Ethel Wilson.
Other than his parents, survivors include his loving wife of 8 years, Margaret Howell Wilson; step-daughters: Jamie Howell and Krisi Broyles and husband Jason; grandson: Riley Broyles, Erwin; sister: Becky Johnson and husband Aron, Elizabethton; brother: Brian Wilson, Erwin; brothers-in-law: David Price and wife Teresa, Unicoi, Lee Price and wife Carol, Erwin, Daryl Price, Erwin; sisters-in-law: Pauline Holden, Elizabethon, Genevieve Rodifer and husband John, Telford, Elsie Thompson, Jacksonville, Fla., Eva DeBusk, Unicoi, Jewell Price and fiance’ Jerald Peterson, Johnson City, Jo Anna Hammonds and husband Henry, Jonesborough, Verdia Campbell and husband Dale, Unicoi, and Cathy Wilson, Erwin; several nieces and nephews, including Zach Jefson and Drew Wilson; and Mark’s loving dogs, Bear, Maggie Mae, and Sir Quillen.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in the chapel of Unicoi Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ronnie Holloway and the Rev. Earl Ragland officiating. Special music will be provided by William Etheridge, Billie Collins and Debra Britt.
Active pallbearers will be Aron Johnson, David Price, Henry Hammonds, John Rodifer, Daryl Price, Dale Campbell, Lee Price, and Jerald Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Jefson, Drew Wilson, David True, Jason Broyles, Richard Price, and Ron Tester.
Interment will follow in RoseLawn Memory Gardens.
