Marjorie Walker Eledge

Marjorie Walker Eledge, 84, passed away on May 15th, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Marjorie will be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, homemaker, artist, cook and opera lover.

Marjorie was born September 25, 1928 in Erwin, Tennessee and raised two wonderful children, Cathie and Robert. She was passionate about music and art and had been an active participant in the Austin Women’s Symphony League and Wednesday Morning Music Club for many years. She was also a very talented artist and was particularly fond of oil painting. She produced many beautiful pieces of artwork over the years enjoyed by family. She was also a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in downtown Austin.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ashley C. Eledge of Austin; a daughter, Cathie Clark of Austin; a son, Robert Eledge of Magnolia, Texas. Marjorie has two wonderful grandchildren, Celene Marie Eledge and Cameron Robert Eledge, both of Magnolia, Texas.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve o’clock until two o’clock in the afternoon, on Monday, the 20th of May 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

A funeral service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 20th of May, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 24th of May, in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wednesday Morning Music Group, Scholarship Fund, 2001 Big Canyon Drive, Austin, Texas 78746, Attn: Katherine Shields.
