Margaret Ann Seward 03 09 2016Margaret Ann Seward, age 53, 1109 Rock Creek Road, Erwin passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Emerg ency Room. She was born in Erwin and lived most of her life in Unicoi County. Margaret was a daughter of the late Reva Shelton Silvers. She was an employee at the Unicoi County Courthouse for the past eight years working in the Property Assessor’s office and most recently in the County Clerk’s office. Margaret was a candidate on the Unicoi County Republican primary ballot for property assessor. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed attending Unicoi County Blue Devil sporting events where she loved watching her three children compete on the athletic field and her daughter cheer. She served the community and the people of Unicoi County in various ways over the years, volunteering her time to help in whatever capacity they needed. Margaret was a devoted volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Waldrop.

Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Richard W. Seward, Jr.; two sons: Daniel Hatcher, Dereck Seward and wife, Desiree, all of Erwin; one daughter, Deah Seward, of the home; two brothers: Mike Shelton and wife, Flora Kay of Erwin, Rickey Shelton and wife, Debra of Flag Pond; two sisters: Connie Shelton and Doreen Parkey, both of Erwin; one granddaughter, Callie Seward. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M until the hour of service on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Preacher Willie Morrow and Preacher Brian Campbell will officiate at the 7:00 P.M. service. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Committal will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home by 10:30 A.M. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
