Maloy King, age 86, 130 Sugar Loaf Mountain Road, Marshall, N.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, N.C.
He was born in Unicoi County, to the late Woolsey and Doshie Cutshall King, and was a lifelong resident of the Shelton Laurel community.
Mr. King retired in 1986 from General Motors, after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a loving dad, grandpaw, and great-grandpaw and was a faithful member of Sweetwater Church of God.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death, in 2005, by his loving wife of 60 years, Jenniev; two daughters: Gladys Faye King and Sharon Kay King; four brothers: Russell King, Elmer King, Carpus King, and Raleigh King; two sisters: Veralee Shelton and Betty Blackwell.
Survivors include two sons: Alvin King, Marshall, N.C., Ronnie King, Warren, Mich.; five daughters: Frances King, Marshall, N.C., Maxine Fettig and husband, John, Warren, Mich., Sue Weiss, Flag Pond, Doris Hubbard, Warren, Mich., and Sherry King, Flag Pond; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Velma Shelton, Chuckey, Zettie Shelton, Monroe, Louisiana, and Doris McDermott, Cummings, Ga., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30, from the Sweetwater Church of God. The Rev. Craig Shelton officiated.
Active pallbearers were selected from the men of the church.
Interment followed in the King Cemetery.
