Mabel Foster Hensley, 88, 880 Mohawk Drive, Erwin, died May 14, 2011, following a lengthy illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Arvie and Iva Guinn Foster. Mrs. Hensley was a member of Shallowford Baptist Church. She retired from Morrill Motors.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hensley, in 1969 and a sister, Helen Vicars.
Survivors include two sons: Alan Hensley and wife Sandy, and Doran Hensley, all of Erwin; two daughters: Betty Horton, and husband John, Knoxville, and Connie Hensley, Limestone; six brothers: Arvie Foster Jr., and wife Dorothy, Johnson City; Quentin Foster, and wife Connie; Jack Foster and wife Brenda, all of Greeneville; Kermit Foster, Erwin; Jerry Foster, Unicoi, and Royce Foster and wife Lucille, Plano, Texas; two sisters: Yvonne Ledford, Bristol, and Renda Lowe and husband Alan, Bristol, Va.; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mabel Foster Hensley were conducted from the chapel of Robert Ledford Funeral Home, Sunday May 15, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. James Lynch officiating.
Interment was held Monday, May 16, at 1 p.m., in Evergreen Cemetery.
