Lyle S. Hasty

Lyle S. Hasty, 76, of Valrico, Fla., passed away on July 21, 2013.
Lyle was born March 3, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio, to Albert and Edith (Munson) Hasty. Lyle served his country with 8 years in the Navy Reserves. He loved aviation, boating and spending time with his loving family.
In 1980, he was the first recipient of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Person of the Year Award. He worked with U.S. Rep. Andy Ireland to create a bill to help small businesses in Florida and also helped to develop a machining program at Manatee VOTEC.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Peggy, of 54 years; son: Brad Hasty (Debbie); daughters: Julie Wittmer (Kenny), Jill Weirich (Jerry); his brother: Jerry Hasty; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grand-son; many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Edith; sister, Sylvia Berkey; and his brother, Craig Hasty.
A celebration of life service was held on Friday, July 26th, at 5 p.m., at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview.
Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundations.
