Lewis Elden Hampton

Lewis Elden Hampton, 83, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center Nursing Home. Mr. Hampton was a native of Unicoi County and was a son of the late John and Rozetta Bailey Hampton. Lewis served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church, an avid gardener, was a member of the Unicoi County Bear Club and was a contractor during his working career. He was a Mason and Shriner. Mr. Lewis was known for his ability to build anything. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hampton is preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Hampton and Jack Hampton.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lewis Elden Hampton in a committal service to be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Chaplain Kevin Holmes will officiate. Those who wish to attend will meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Friday by 12:50 PM.
