Lester Curtis Harris Sr. died Tuesday, Dec. 25. He was born in Erwin to the late Harry and Lela Belle West Harris.
Mr. Harris retired from Barnett Bank, Jacksonville, Fla., as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a husband, dad, papaw, great papaw, uncle and cousin who was a loving, kind Christian and sweet man. All loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed.
Other than his parents, Mr. Harris is preceded in death by one brother: Cling Phillip Harris Jr.; two sisters: Jean Harris Bonar and Yvonne Harris Boone.
Survivors include his wife: Edna Arlene Harris; children: Angie and Ed Mann, of Florida, Angela Cathy and Vernon Harris, of Erwin, Shirley and Glenn Mallard, of Flint, Mich., Lois Harris, of Erwin, Lester Curtis Jr. and Renee Harris, of North Carolina, Richard Harris and Tena Locke, of Limestone, Christina Brandy Harris, of Greeneville, Bobby Tittle, of Erwin; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bill and Beatrice Harris, Earl Harris, Dewey and Evelyn Harris, Johnny and Judy Harris, all of Erwin; sister: Marsha Poore, of Erwin; brother and sister-in-law: Barbara and George Smallwood, of Springfield, Miss., Joe and Diane Tittle, of Jonesborough, Margaret Mathis, of Jacksonville, Fla., Donald Tittle, of Telford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A committal service was held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Kim Casey officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lester Curtis Harris Sr. fund in care of Edna Harris, 201 Florida St., Erwin, TN 37650.
