Leonard “Doug” Miller

Leonard “Doug” Miller, age 63, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Erwin and a son of the late Merritt and Della Clouse Miller. Doug retired from the United States Army, serving in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Germany with the 82nd and 181st Airborne Division. He attended Unicoi County High School and received his Master’s degree from the Webster University. In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by two sisters: Sally Harris and Ann Hatcher, four brothers: Billy Clouse, Andy Miller, Willard Miller and Lattie Miller.

Doug has left behind to cherish his memories;

A visitation period to share memoires and offer support to the family will begin at 9:30 AM and continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home on Friday. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Doug in a funeral service to be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 12, 2015, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards will officiate. A military graveside service will be held immediately following at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Tennessee National Guard Army providing honors.
