Lassie Miller Buchanan

Lassie Miller Buchanan, age 98, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Unicoi County Long Term Care. She was a native of Yancey County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Dollie Wilson Miller. Lassie was the oldest living member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church at the time of her death. Her passion for gardening and canning was well known throughout her friends and family and was a source of pride for her husband. In addition to her parents, Lassie is preceded in death by husband Taylor Buchanan: brothers: Floyd, Ross, Holt, and Jay Miller; sisters: Blanche Miller, Lala Higgins and Grace Adkins.
Lassie M. Buchanan has left behind to cherish her memories:
Son: Howard Buchanan and wife Louise of Erwin,
Daughters: Vadith Blankenship and husband Phil of Burnsville, NC,
Verna Foster and husband Dean of Unicoi,
Jean May and husband Dennis of Unicoi,
Betty Anglin and husband Martin of Jonesborough;
Sister: Belle Foster of Erwin,

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lassie M. Buchanan in a committal service to be held at 9:00 AM on May 3, 2015 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Kevin Laws and Reverend Charlie Trivette will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Reverend Kevin Laws and by Darren Higgins.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donation be made to Southside Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 1313 Chestoa Pike, Erwin, TN 37650.7
