Kenneth Gordon Ferguson, age 72, 904 North Main Avenue, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord at 9:50 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was born September 30, 1941 in Kingsport, Tennessee, a son of the late Clarence Hugh and Sue Ella Baker Ferguson. Kenneth was a minister of faith and helped many people to see God's love.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Connie Slone Ferguson; a son, Seth Ferguson; four daughters: Michelle Pate and husband, Dwayne, Flag Pond, Charity Helton and husband, Greg, Christa Byrd and husband, David, all of Unicoi, Beth McAmis and husband, Marc, Elizabethton; six grandchildren: Craig T. Shelton, Jacob Shelton, Ashleigh Helton, Isaac Byrd, Emma Byrd and Matthew McAmis; one brother, David Ferguson and wife, Karen and one sister, Judy Barnett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two aunts: Judy Moss, Erwin and Shirley Walker, Little Rock, Arkansas. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate.
