Kathleen “Kitty” Hicks Randolph Helvey Howell

Kathleen “Kitty” Hicks Randolph Helvey Howell, age 89, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Born July 11, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Luther Lee and Norma Lea Hoss Hicks. Kitty was a housewife, and a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served as a deacon. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a past president of the Rock Creek Elementary School PTA. She enjoyed flower gardening and humming birds, and she loved her cats and dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Delmas Randolph, second husband, J. C. Helvey, third husband, Ward Howell, brother, Luther Lee Hicks, and one grandchild.

Survivors include:
Children: Lynn Gaddy and her husband Larry;
Rebecca Million;
Wayne Randolph;
Jim Randolph and his wife Carmen;
Six grandchildren;
Four Great Grandchildren;
Four step-children.

A funeral service for Kathleen “Kitty” Hicks Randolph Helvey Howell will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Byrd officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Richard and Sandi Browning with accompaniment by Mike Peterson. The family will receive friends From 7:00PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home. There will be a private entombment at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N. Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650; American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Rd, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601; or the Jericho Shriners Temple, 1905 American Way, Kingsport, TN 37660.
