Julia Lee “Judy” Peterson, age 64, Unicoi, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Ped and Nellie Hensley Price. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served for several years as the Women's Ministry President. Other than her parents, Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Price.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of forty-four years, Kenneth W. Peterson; three brothers: Hubert Price of Maryland, Jesse Price and wife, Janice of Unicoi and Ricky Price of Georgia; six sisters: Delores Shook and husband, J. D. of Erwin, Berlin Thompson and Jeff of Elizabethton, Hazel Burnett, Deborah Fair and husband, Ted all of Erwin, Connie Mace and husband, Richard of Gray and Pamela Maggart of Unicoi; fifteen nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend James Dunn will officiate at the 8:00 P. M. service. Music will be provided by Marlin Hensley, Amanda Shelton, Queenie Wheeler and Inez Chandler. Active pallbearers will be William Silvers, Mark Shook, Adam Maggart, James Holt, Bryon Potter, Bobby Potter, Doug Potter and Andrew Burnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bailey and Conner James Hall. Committal service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family, minister, friends and pallbearers are asked to be at the Unicoi Funeral Home by 9:30 A. M. to go in procession to the cemetery.
