JONAS ARIE WHITE SR.

Jonas Arie White Sr., age 67, 213 Norton Hollow Road, Erwin, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. White was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Blaine and Myrtle Edney White.
He owned and operated White’s Roofing.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William White; brothers, J.B. White, Fred White, Steve White, Eddie White and Jimmy White; sisters, Judabell Bailey and Beatrice White; and grandson, Milton White.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Jane “Jody” Bennett White of Erwin; daughter, Dawn Maxwell and husband, David, of Erwin; sons, Jonas White and wife, Darlene of Erwin, Darl White and wife, Julia of Erwin, Billy White and wife, Tabitha of Erwin, and T.J. White and wife, Sabrina of Erwin; grandchildren, Amanda White, Justin White, Madison White, Fisher White, Dalton White, Sammy White, Annie White, Trent White, Laken White, all of Erwin, and Brandon West of Ft. Gordon, Ga.; brothers, Ray White, Ronnie White, Jeff White, Jerry White and William Lish White, all of Erwin; sisters, Mildred Harris and Sabia Watts, both of Erwin; and special brother-in-law, Arch Bennett of Erwin.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Shelton officiated. Vocal selections were provided by David and Penny McNally.
Committal services were held Friday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Tony Garreffa, Kevin Bennett, Lee Edwards, Ronnie White, Ray White, Andy White, Kenneth White and Joey Hensley. Honorary pallbearers were Matt Meadows, Terry Hoyle, Tim Bradford, J.B. Saults, Jerry White, Arch Bennett and Chris Garreffa.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
