John S. Boone, Sr.
Funeral services for John S. Boone, Sr. will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with Rev. Andy Allison officiating.
Mr. Boone was born April 26, 1923 in Erwin, Tennessee, to Troy and Ollie Crain Boone, and passed away January 6, 2014 in Tatum, Texas.
Mr. Boone served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, in World War II and was under the command of General Patton. He was a man of many talents, he enjoyed farming and ranching, as a pilot, he enjoyed flying, and as a millwright, he enjoyed engineering, welding, and all kinds of fabrication, at a young age he fabricated a working steam engine out of a coffee can.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Boone; two brothers, Ray Boone and Raymond Boone; and two sisters, Ada Gillis and Elizabeth Phillips.
He is survived by his sons, John S. Boone, II; and Daniel A. Boone; grandchildren, James Boone and wife Lucy; Denyse Blasedale and husband Rev. Brady; Anthony Boone and wife Kristi; great grandchildren, Ethan Blasedale; Carter Boone; Caleb Blasedale; Hollie Boone; Natalie Boone; and Aaron Blasedale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
The family will receive guest from 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
