John Marvin Conquest, 87, of Unicoi, TN passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Nashville, TN and a son of the late Charles Arthur and Pearl Rebecca Conquest. Mr. Conquest had worked for Nashville Electric Service for thirty-nine years prior to retirement. He served in the Navy during World War Two and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Marvin most enjoyed fishing, camping, square dancing, instructing country western dances, blue grass music, and spending time with his loved ones. In addition to his parents his was preceded in death by siblings Charles A. Conquest Jr., Dorothy Broderick, and Marie Ramsey. Survivors include his wife Marian Conquest, a son Robert Gary Conquest and wife Beverly of Winchester, TN, and daughter Lisa Anne Kiernan and husband Dan of Unicoi; grandsons, Paul Conquest, Chris Kiernan, Steven Kiernan and wife Eliza, Luke Conquest, Seth Conquest, and Michael Kiernan, step-granddaughter Nicole Foshee, and many loved nieces and nephews. It was Marvins wish to be cremated. A memorial service as a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday October 18th at First Baptist Church Erwin at 1pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Erwin Childrens Ministry.
