Jerry Martin Rippee, age 72, of Pensacola Fla., died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, surrounded by his love ones, at age 72.
Mr. Rippee was a graduate of Michigan State University in 1964 where he met Julia, his wife of 52 years. He and his family lived in Erwin from 1980 to 1999, where he managed Hardee’s of Spartan Foods. He recently was employed at Wal-Mart, Blue Angel Parkway, where he had worked for the past 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Luther and Lana E. Rippee, and a brother, Dorman E. Rippee.
He was very proud of his four daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth A. and Eric Belcher, Jennifer M. and Dana Fender, Anne L. and Scott Michael and Julie Gregg. He also cherished his 10 grandchildren: Robin, Kevin, Laura, Sharon, Karen, Susan, James, Jessica, Austin and Andrew.
He had two beloved pets: Sonny and Caesar.
He will always be remembered for his tender heart, clever words and a warm smile for everyone.
The family received friends at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Pensacola Fla. The Rev. John Akers officiated.
Interment followed at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
