Jean was born in Cement, Oklahoma on September 26, 1919, to the late Harvey Fletcher Thompson and Lizzie Belle Thompson. She later moved to Plainview, Texas where she met and married her husband, who was a farmer. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. She was very proud of earning her pilot’s license in the 1940’s and enjoyed flying with her husband.
Jean spent most of her married and working life in Plainview, Texas, but moved to Erwin in 2008. She was a member of Love Chapel Christian Church, loved the Lord and really enjoyed the women’s Sunday School class she attended. Survivors include two sons, Terry (and his wife Lee) of Erwin and Tommy of Baltimore, Maryland; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
