Janie Moore Rogers, age 76, died peacefully at her home on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Nash County, N.C., to the late Ernest Wayne Moore and Anna Mae Cone Moore.
Mrs. Rogers graduated from Hugh Morrison High School in 1954 and went on to further her education at Meredith College and Campbell University. She married the love of her life, William James “Bill” Rogers on June 28, 1958.
She was a primary grade school teacher for many years in the public school system, the preschool director at Calvary Baptist Preschool, and for 27 years a primary grade teacher at Ravenscroft School.
Survivors include her husband: Bill Rogers; loving children: Wayne Rogers and daughter in law Denise; Tammie Overton, grandaughter Robin, and son in law Bob; David Rogers, grandson Nicholas “Nick”, grandaughter Laura, and daughter in law Renea.
The Rogers family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at her home in Raleigh.
A celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., with Dr. Marty Jacumin, Dr. Roger Nix, Dr. Don Gilbert and the Rev. Chad Hood officiating.
Interment was at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C.
