James Kenneth Tittle, age 84, of Erwin, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Born on August 22, 1931 in Unicoi County, he was a son of the late Isaac “Ike” and Blanche Renfro Tittle. He retired from Park Belk maintenance division of Johnson City in 1994. James was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an inactive deacon. Mr. Tittle loved camping, fishing, gardening and most of all loved going to church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Lethia Tittle and Addie Callahan and brothers Don, Earl and Cecil Tittle.

Wife of 54 years: Marie Renfro Tittle, of Erwin;

Daughters: Tammy Tittle Reiss and friend, Michael Kennison, of Cleveland, OH;

Karen Berry and husband, Jerry of Erwin;

Granddaughter: Jessica Berry and Adam Mincey, of Erwin;

Grandson: Joshua Berry and Jennifer Lloyd, of Erwin;

Great Grandchildren: Kylie Berry and Jason Berry, of Erwin;

Brothers: Isaac “Ike” Tittle, Jr. and wife, Anna Mae, of Erwin;

Harley “Bugs” Tittle and wife, Shirley, of Jonesborough;

Special Friends: Charlie Freeman, of Erwin;

Mike Butler, of Jonesborough

 

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and honor the life of James K. Tittle in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 AM, and will continue until service time on Tuesday. A graveside service will follow in Bumpass Cove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Morrow, Wayne Morrow, Buddy Callahan, Mike Butler, Charlie Freeman, Danny Tittle, Donald Tittle, Bobby Tittle, Jerry Berry, and Mike Kennison. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Tittle, Larry Tittle, David Tittle, Greg Tittle, Harvey Tittle, Carl Tittle, and members of the men’s Sunday school class.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
