James “J.O” Otis Casteel

James “J.O” Otis Casteel, age 82, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Russel County, VA and a son of the late Otis and Lake Pearl Lewis Casteel. James served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and 6 years in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was retired from CSX as a conductor after 44 years of service. Mr. Casteel was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Erwin Kiwanis Club. He loved God, his family, his church, fishing, hunting, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Margaret Bilmyer and husband, Ron of Spring Hill, TN;
Brother: Glen Alan Casteel of Tullahoma, TN;
Host of Nieces and Nephews;
And a loved sister-in-law: Judy Ashbrook of Lebanon, VA

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family of James “J.O.” Otis Casteel will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 540 Adams Street, Erwin, TN 37650. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Gary Amos and also by Janna Crutchfield accompanied by Jonathan Crutchfield. A committal service will follow in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Harwood, Kevin Horton, Byron Ashbrook, Don Pfaender, Buck Foster, and Michael Higgins.
