Jack T. McKinney

Jack T. McKinney, age 70, Erwin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017. H e passed away at his residence following a lengthy illness. Jack was a native of Unicoi County and son of the late Wade and Vera Lee McKinney. He was a retired insurance agent and previous owner of Unicoi County Insurance Agency. Jack was a Christian and a member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. He had a passion for people which was evident in the many lives he touched in his thirty year insurance career. Jack loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. His greatest hobby enjoyment was target shooting and gunsmithing of which he was a master.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chester McKinney.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-two years, Brenda McKinney; two children: Sherry Orcutt and husband, Mike of New York, Jackie Rogers and husband, J.J. of Erwin; three grandchildren: Christopher Orcutt, Cody Jack Rogers and Sydney Rogers; his best friend and brother, Ronnie McKinney; special aunt, Pat Padgett; two nieces: Joyce Griffith and Tammy Edwards; one great niece, Emily Edwards; two great nephews: Alex Griffith and Chase Edwards; his special friends: Tony Love, Brandon Fender and Kiana Watson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P. M. until the hour of service on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Trinity Freewill Baptist Church and other times at the residence. Reverend Shane Brunner, Reverend Andy Patterson and Reverend Talmadge Brown will officiate at the 3:00 P. M. funeral service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Edwards, Alex Griffith, Tony Love, Doug Edwards, Jake Collins and Will Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Jack Rogers, Christopher Orcutt and Brandon Fender.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Jack to Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, 1221 North Main Avenue, Erwin, TN 37650.
