J.C. Renfro

J.C. Renfro, age 82, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Hermitage Health Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and was a son of the late Dewey and Mary Lee Coffey Renfro. J.C. loved being outdoors. He enjoyed walking, running, fishing and working on his yard. He liked to watch UT Football and all Unicoi County Sports. In his earlier years he mentored many young kids through Little League and Babe Ruth. Mr. Renfro loved Church, singing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as an easy going, fun loving, always smiling and all around positive person. He will be missed by many. Mr. Renfro retired from the CRR and CSX Railroads after 39 years of service. He was a former member of Hulen Baptist Church and a current member of Fishery Community Church. In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by his first wife and mother to his children, Louise Renfro and also by wife Delcie Renfro, daughter Debbie Renfro, sisters Lucille Ray and Virgie Freeman, and by a brother Arthur Renfro.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of J.C. Renfro in a funeral service to be at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Ferrell Peterson and Reverend Richard Tittle will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 PM and continue until the service time on Wednesday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday by 10:30 AM. Pallbearers will be notified.
