Howard Wilson, age 75, of 165 Bumpus Cove Road, Erwin, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at Erwin Health Care Center.
He was born March 29, 1935 in Unicoi County. He was a son of the late Sol and Lettie Casey Wilson. Howard lived most of his life in Washington County.
He was a retired inspector for Vaughn Furniture Company after 15 years of service. He was a member of Embreeville Cove Missionary Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Love Wilson, who died July 2, 2002; two brothers, Herbert Wilson and Floyd Wilson, and one sister, Martha Wilson.
Howard is survived by his sister, Ruby Shelton, and husband, Ray, Erwin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Otis Bank and the Rev. Lonnie Wilson officiating. Special music was provided by organist, Inez Chandler and soloists, Pearl Banks, Diana Puckett and Feussa Hale.
Committal service was Sunday, March 13, in Bumpass Cove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Charlie Freeman, Lonnie Freeman, Bobby Belt, Mike Wilson, Bobby Payne, and Eric Wilson.
James Wilson was an honorary pallbearer.
Robert Ledford Funeral Home was in charge.
