Herbert Treadway, 82, of Erwin, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Flag Pond, and a son of the late Braske and Viola Pate Treadway.
Mr. Treadway was a press operator for General Motors until his retirement in 1984 after 36 years. He attended Shallow Ford Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Poore Treadway.
Survivors include daughters, Patti and husband Skip Olszewski, of Davison, Mich.; Paula Treadway, of Davison, Mich.; grandchildren, Stephanie Sloan, of Flint, Mich., Matthew Funch, of Flint, Mich., David Treadway, of Las Vegas, Nev., Johnathan Treadway, serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, Ashley Treadway, of Westland, Mich.; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards officiated. Vocal selections were provided by Bradley Williams.
Interment was held Sunday, July 10, at 9 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
