Harry L. Erwin, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at Baysmont Asbury. He was born in Erwin, and
was a son of the late Herman and Josephine Erwin. Mr. Erwin was a longtime resident of Kingsport.
He retired after 43 years of service with Eastman, where he was a chemical engineer. He was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate
Army and the American Revolution. Mr. Erwin served as an Explorer Scout Leader with Troop 255.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Elizabeth Millie Whited Erwin, and two great grandsons. Survivors include one son: William D. Erwin of Kingsport; two daughters:Martha Ann Marty Erwin of Lindale, Ga., Tracey Ellen Ferguson of Kingsport; three
grandchildren: Michael Kinkead Steadman, Travis Cole, Mary Ferguson; six great grandchildren;
one sister: Mildred Erwin Conley of Erwin, and one niece: Rebecca Conley.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, at East Lawn Funeral Home, with graveside services following at East Lawn Memorial Park.
