Harold “Cash” Ramsey, age 75, of Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Born on August 18, 1940 in Unicoi County, he was a son of the late Sankey and Audrey Irene Bennett Ramsey. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. He showed his love for the Lord through serving others. He was a lifelong Vols football fan and enjoyed traveling, Blue Grass Music and spending time with his family.

Harold was a Conductor for CSX Transportation, where he retired after 33 years service. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death a son, Richard Harold “Ricky” Ramsey in 2009.

Harold Ramsey has left behind to cherish his memories: Daughters: Tammy Ramsey of Erwin, Mintie Younger and her husband Jasen of Johnson City, Grandchildren: Paul Jordan “P. J.” Edwards of Ft. Riley, KS Tabetha Lyninger of Erwin, Kristina Nicole Newbauer of VA, Brothers: Jerel and his wife Phyllis Ramsey of Blountville, Gene and his wife Sally Ramsey of Erwin, Aunts: Helen Tilson of Erwin, Florence Ray of Erwin, Great Grandchildren: Amaya Newbauer Parker Lee Lyninger. The mother of Ricky and Tammy, Special friend Janice Ramsey, Special Friend Vanda Shell and Family of Erwin. Several Nieces, Nephews and cousins, And many friends. Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and honor the life of Harold “Cash” Ramsey in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM, and will continue until service time. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who plan to attend will meet at 10:30 AM at Valley Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Jordan Edwards, Jasen Younger, Stephen Lyninger, Boone Reed, Raben Reed and Tommy Bennett. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at
