Grace Beulah Collins, age 70, Erwin, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Asheville, N.C. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Charles A. and Effie Mattingly Lyon.
Mrs. Collins attended First Assembly of God Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Henry Sherman Collins; sisters: Louise Butler, Charlene Constable, Norma Radford, Patricia Powers, Pauline Riddle and brothers: Johnny Lyons, Kyle Lyons, and Charles “Jr.” Lyons.
Survivors include: sons: Donnie Silvers and wife Janice, of Erwin, Steve Collins, of Erwin; sisters: Wilma Howell, of Erwin, Bernadine Johnson and husband Michael, of Erwin; brother: Gordon Lyon, of Erwin; grandchildren: Mark A. Yelton and his fiancé Angie, D. A. Silvers and his fiancé Marlena Martinez, Dusty R. Silvers and his wife Tammy; great-grandchildren: Cody A. Yelton and William B. Yelton and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Crass officiated.
A committal service followed at Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Donald Lee Powers, James D. Powers, Jeremiah Powers, Tracy Taylor, Tommy Stout, and Jamie Hughes.
