Glenn C. Lloyd, age 88 of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away
September 1, 2018. Glenn was born in Amelia, Virginia to the late Clyde and
Rona Lloyd. The eldest of eight children, he was an outgoing and caring
individual. He found his calling in the Military. He was a proud member
of the United States Air Force for over 20 years, attaining the rank of
Senior Master Sergeant. Glenn served during the Korean War era and
at several overseas bases prior to his tour of duty in Vietnam. Following
his time of service, he settled in Albuquerque where he spent the
next 20 years working for St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Glenn was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time on the river or out camping,
he was always on the lookout for the next big catch. Whether he was
fishing with his buddy Jim, camping with the family, or shooting the
breeze with his coffee club friends, he enjoyed each moment to the fullest.
He never knew a stranger, had countless friends, and was his family’s rock.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Maxine Lloyd, his daughters, Celia Lloyd,
Virginia (Charles) Gauthier and Glenda Nelson; his grandchildren, Dana Olsen,
Michael Olsen, Nikki Stanford and Brandie Casey; great-grandchildren, Kennedy
Johnson and Carter Stanford. He is also survived by his sisters, Lois Foster-Jones, Betty (Jim) Prevette, brothers, Dallas (Jean) Lloyd, Jack (Patsy) Lloyd, Gary (Sharon) Lloyd and sister-in-law, Edna Lloyd. He also leaves behind many other cherished friends and family members. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Farnor and brother, Richard Lloyd.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at French Funeral Home, Albuquerque. Interment followed with full Military honors in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
