GLADYS TIPTON HAUN
Gladys Tipton Haun, age 87, 811 Dogwood Drive, Erwin, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in Erwin Health Care Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late John D. and Margaret Runion Tipton.
Mrs. Haun was a former co-owner of Clarences Restaurant and was a former employee of Industrial Garment Company.
She was an avid seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking. Mrs. Haun was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a faithful member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church and attended as long as her health permitted.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Lawrence Haun, who passed away in 2008; one infant son: Terry Lawrence Haun; two brothers: Lattie Tipton and infant Oscar Tipton; one sister: Flora Bennett.
Survivors include one son: Brandon Haun and wife Ruth, Erwin; two daughters: Karen Cox and husband Glynn and Marty Jones, all of Erwin; six grandchildren: Beth Haun, Erwin, Lance Haun, Erwin, Nathan Cox and wife Lisa, Johnson City, Jennifer White and husband Jerry, Erwin, Andy Jones, Erwin, Kelly Yelton and husband Jason, Bakersville, N.C.; three great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters: Evelyn Honeycutt and Claudeen Carpenter, both of Erwin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Fender officiating.
Graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31, in White-Haun Cemetery.
