Gladys Lillian Higginbotham, age 88, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late John Wilby and Katie Smith Huskins. Ms. Higginbotham worked for the former Southern Pottery, Industrial Garment, and later owned/operated the Big Hat with her husband. She was a member of the Eastern Star where she was the recipient of a 50 year pin. Gladys was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ms. Higginbotham is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Higginbotham and a son, Roger Higginbotham.

Grandson: Neal Higginbotham of Texas
Several Nieces and Nephews including, Mike Higginbotham and wife, Pam of Johnson City

The life of Gladys Lillian Higginbotham will be remembered and honored in a funeral service to be at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Gary Amos. A committal service will follow in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 540 Adams Street, Erwin, TN 37650.
