Genevieve Silvers Tipton

Genevieve Silvers Tipton, age 88, 510 Holston Ave., Erwin, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Micaville, N.C., to the late Willard Lee and Hattie Ellen Chrisawn Silvers.
Mrs. Tipton was a devoted Christian, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 12 years, Edward E. Tipton; an infant daughter: Barbara Jean; one son: Wayne Tipton; three brothers: Roy, Ted, and Clarence Silvers.
Survivors include two daughters: Donna Atkins and husband William C., of the home and Sylvia Bailey, Erwin; six grandchildren: Renee Harris and husband Steve, David Elliott, Amy Morrell, Kelli Hughes, Travis Tipton, and Mendy Bailey; five great-grandchildren: Anthony Harris, Ashley Harris, Kaitlynn Morrell, Peyton Morrell, and Trinity Elliott, all of Erwin; one sister: Juanita Silvers, Erwin; two sisters-in-law: Mildred Silvers and Mildred English Silvers, all of Erwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was at 7 p.m., Friday, July 6, at West Park Street Church. The Rev. Darrell Shelton officiated. Active pallbearers were Kenny Silvers, Travis Tipton, Doug Estep, Anthony Harris, Jesse Shelton, and Kenny Loveless. Honorary pallbearer was Jacob Campbell.
Interment was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 7, in Tipton Cemetery, Unicoi.
