Genevieve H. Laws

Genevieve H. Laws, age 86, 125 Ford St., Erwin, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at the Center on Aging and Health.
She was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Washington County to the late Clayton and Allie Peterson Honeycutt.
Mrs. Laws was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and was a dedicated employee of Southern Pottery for over 17 years.
She attended Fellowship Free Will Baptist Chuch.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Laws was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Laws, who died Feb. 3, 2005, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son: Charles Laws, of the home, and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jan Larkins, Kingsport.
Funeral service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Terry Richardson and the Rev. Kevin Laws officiated. Special music was provided by vocalist Allan Foster and pianist Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers were Mike McIntosh, D.H. Garland, Bobby Ray, Tony Ray, and Dwight Rice.
The committal service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at RoseLawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Laws to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
