Frankie Myron Bailey

Frankie Myron Bailey, age 60, 423 Love Street, Erwin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital while he was surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a son of the late Burnie and Rachel Williams Bailey.

Frankie was a United States Army Veteran. He served his country honorably for eight years, earning Rank E-5 before his discharge. Frankie was awarded Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Professional Development Ribbon and Expert Rifleman Badge.

He graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1987 with his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. Frankie was formerly employed by Bell South where he worked in Telecommunications.

Frankie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed airplanes and flying. Frankie also liked riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Russell, Troy, David and Larry “Mark” Bailey.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving, dedicated wife of forty-one years, Yong Sun Hong Bailey; two sons: Frankie Myron Bailey, Jr. (Talitha), Auburn, GA, Burnie Joe Bailey (Kendall), Marietta, GA; one brother, Roger Bailey; two sisters: Pauline Ault (Paul) and Burnice Binkley, all of Erwin; three grandchildren: Kaley Meri Beckman, Moira Aileen Bailey and Freyja Valentina Bailey; sister-in-law, Pearl Bailey, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the Evergreen Cemetery. Chaplain Karl Gasser will officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Military Honors will be rendered by Carter County Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 A.M. on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, however, those wishing may make donations to the family to help offset the funeral service expenses incurred.
