Frank Elwood Davis, age 89, a longtime Christian church minister of Erwin, died at 12:02 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Davis was a member of Grandview Christian Church in Johnson City. He had served for more than 50 years in churches both locally and in Indiana, Illinois and Florida.
He was a graduate of Johnson Bible College in Knoxville and later graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, receiving both his master’s and his BD degrees. He was a veteran of World War II, serving proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Norine Davis; twin daughters, Joy and Jill; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At the Rev. Davis’ request, his body has been cremated.
A celebration of his life was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Grandview Christian Church with Aaron Wymer, minister, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grandview Christian Church Building Fund.
