Frances Lyla Shelton

MARSHALL – Frances Lyla Ray Shelton, 80, of Marshall, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2015 at the J.F. Keever Solace Center.
Mrs. Shelton was born August 15, 1934 in Madison County to the late Prelon and Coza Chandley Ray. Mrs. Shelton lived most of her life as homemaker in Indiana and Alabama but had moved back to Madison County recently. She was a member of Coffee Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Frances was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Amos Ray.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Barnabas Shelton, daughter; Jewel Franklin (Emerson) of Marshall; sister, Louise Ray Tweed of Cullman, AL; grandchildren, Sherry Cantrell (Richard) of Marshall, Joe Franklin (Lyvonna) of Marshall; great grandchildren, Dean Cantrell, Dillon Cantrell, Jordan Cantrell, Noah Franklin; great great grandson, Braedan Cantrell; several nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverend Eric Young officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Carmen Church of God Cemetery with Reverend Homer Tweed officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Madison Funeral Home.
