Ford Pate

Ford Pate, age 92, passed away on Saturday January 6, 2018 at his residence. A native of Flag Pond. Ford is a son of the late Zeb and Carrie (Tipton) Pate. He was a member of Erwin Church of God and was a truck driver prior to retirement. He was employed by HM Kelly in PA, Wilson Freight in MD and Rock Creek Builders after returning to Erwin. In addition to his parents, Ford was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia (White) Pate; daughter, Billie Jo Pate; sisters, Kathleen Kenney and Gladys Adkins; brothers, John R. Pate, Samalee Pate, Jerry Pate, and Zeb “Butch” Pate.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Ford Pate in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards and Reverend Charlie Foster will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Larry Pate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time. A committal service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 @ 11:00 Am in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending the committal service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30 AM on Friday to go in procession.
