Fannie Edwards Garland, age 84, 114 Gentry Street, Erwin, passed away Friday, April 28, 2016, at her residence. She was an Erwin native and daughter of the late Richard and Lillian Greenlee Edwards. Mrs. Garland was a retired hairdresser and a former employee of Texas Instruments. She was a member of th e Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Other than her parents, Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne G. Garland in 1985; four brothers, Richard, Jim, Kenneth and Buster Edwards; four sisters, Leona Jackson, Carmel Freeman, Beatrice Price and Vivian Brock.
Mrs. Garland leaves behind to cherish her memories; one son, Alan Garland and wife, Sherri; one daughter, Lisa Tapp and husband, Ronnie; one grandson, Zachary Garland and fiancee Rachel Baucom; one great-granddaughter, Clara Garland all of Erwin; two sisters, Wanda Padgett and husband, Glenn of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Evelyn Bates of Johnson City; two sisters-in-law, Belva Garland and Charlotte Edwards both of Erwin; one brother-in-law, Buddy Freeman of Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Committal service will be held at 1:30 P. M. Saturday, April 30, 2016, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Reverend Delbert Gillett and Reverend Noah Taylor will officiate. Music will be provided by Dean Wilson. Pallbearers are Zachary Garland, Darren Higgins, Dean Wilson, Joe Quillen, Mike Higgins and Mike Anders. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home by 1:00 P. M. to go in procession to the mausoleum.
