Etta Mae Morgan Love, 93, of Johnson City, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Hyden, KY, daughter of the late L. C. and Betty Morgan.
Etta Mae was a social welfare worker for the state of Tennessee. She had taught school in Ohio attaining the Teacher of the Year there.
Etta Mae was a member of the Downtown Christian Church in Johnson City. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her mother and father, Etta was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Love in 2008; also two children, John G. Love, Jr. and a daughter Amelia Tyer; a grandson, Stevie Love and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Debbie Mayer of Knoxville, David and Vivian Mayer of Seymour, Steve and Debbie Love of Blountville; two daughters, Melissa Love of Johnson City and Linda Love of Harrisburg, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Blake, Matthew, Katelyn, Morgan, Jonathan, Michael, Tia, Johnny Dean, David Jr., Nicholas V., Adam, Paul and Johnny; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a son-in-law, David Tyer of Chattanooga; a special friend, Steve and Lois Campbell of Elizabethton.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Downtown Christian Church under the direction of Dr. Eddie Fine. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Steve Love, David Mayer, Tim Mayer, Matthew Love, Steve Campbell, and Jonathan Mayer.
