Ethel Bennett Miller, 83, of West Park Street, Erwin, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Center on Aging and Health. She was born March 31, 1928 in Unicoi County.
She was the daughter of the late Cheves and Cora Lee Coggins Bennett.
Mrs. Miller was of the Baptist faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Miller who died in 1983, an infant son, Lonnie Miller and her sister, Roxy McLaughlin.
Survivors include two sons: Billy D. Miller, Erwin, David Miller and wife Debbie, Unicoi; daughter: Linda Foster and husband Danny, of Embreeville; eight grandchildren, Dallas Smith, of Unicoi, Tammy Johnson and husband Michael of Watauga, Angela Bennett and husband Bobby, of Erwin, Ralph Miller and wife Andrea, of Telford, Terry Miller and wife Jenny, of Erwin, Joey Miller and wife Sara, of Erwin, Tracie Wilson, and husband Steve, of Johnson City, and Chevis Miller, of Unicoi; 16 great grandchildren; three brothers: Ted Bennett and wife Pat of Hampton, Fred Bennett, of Erwin, and Joe Bennett and wife Geneva, of Michigan; six sisters: Bonnie Britt and husband LeRoy, of Erwin, Jerri Edith Norris, of Florida, Nell Webb, Florida, Minnie Lou Adkins and husband Norman, Doris Bennett, and Tina Turner, all of Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, in the chapel of Erwin Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Fender officiating. Special music was provided by the Trinity Quartet.
Active pallbearers were Dallas Smith, Brent Smith, Steve Wilson, Joey Miller, Terry Miller, Bobby Bennett, C.J. Smith-Johnson, and Ralph Miller.
Interment was held at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, May 29, at Tinker Cemetery.
