Edna Emily Edwards King, age 77, 4208 Old Asheville Highway, Flag Pond, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 14, 2013, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County, a daughter of the late Guy and Medie Stockton Edwards.
Mrs. King was a member of Lower Higgins Creek Church of God and was a retired employee of Morrell Motors after 19 years of service.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrel King, who passed away in April, 2007, son, Terry Hensley; son-in-law, Eric Carter; one brother, Fred Edwards; two sisters, Gertha Hagan and Wilma Lyons.
Mrs. King is survived by three sons, Gary Hensley and wife, Marie, Mars Hill, North Carolina, Michael King and wife, Angie, Erwin, and Lewis King and wife Danielle, Elizabethton; three daughters, Justine McIntosh and husband Harold, Flag Pond, Margaret Banner and husband, John, Erwin, and Janet Carter, Erwin; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Dillard Edwards, Erwin, Guy Edwards, Jr., and wife, Linda, Erwin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Edwards, Jonesborough
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. King will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Darren Shelton will officiate.
Special music will be provided by the Lower Higgins Creek Church of God singers and Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers will be John Banner, Jr., Luke Champouillon, Eric Carter, Stephen Lowman, Gary Hensley, and Derek Smith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7.00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The committal service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013,
in Williams Cemetery, Flag Pond. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
