Edith Laws Yates, age 92, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Yates was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late Bob and Lula Huskins Laws. Edith was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. In Addition to her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Yates.

The family requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Edith Elizabeth Yates in a Committal service to be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lamar community, Jonesborough. Reverend Richard Chapman will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Stella Rutherford. Bagpipes will be played by piper Rob Hoss. Serving as pallbearers will be the nephews: Larry Lane, Howard Lane, Herman Lane, Marty Richardson, Billy Huskins, and Steve Huskins. The family will receive friends anytime at her residence.
