Earl Ray Day

Earl Ray Day, age 88, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Charles Walter and Myrtle Hampton Day. He was an artist and loved to paint. He worked in dietary at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, Carter County Memorial Hospital and retired from Johnson City Medical Center. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by his brothers Woodward, Ernest, Isaac, Roy “Boots”, Leonard and James Day and sisters Ruby Peterson, Lena Edwards, and Harriett Glatfelter.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Earl Ray Day in a funeral service to begin at 7:00PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Trivette and Reverend Burnie Jones officiating. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00PM Tuesday and continue until service time. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:00AM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Roselawn Memory Gardens in Johnson City. Those attending will meet at the mausoleum by 9:55AM for the committal service.
