Duck Arrington, age 82, of Greeneville formerly of Flag Pond, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Arrington was born in Flag Pond and was a native of Greenville, TN. He was a son of the late Robert and Minnie Rice Arrington. Duck was an officer with the Madison County Sheriffs Department, was a tree trimmer in Indiana, and later worked for a private protective service as a security guard. He was of the Church of God Faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arrington is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Crum, second wife, Mary Lou Arrington, sisters, Pearl Gunter and Bessie Arrington, very special brother, Henry Arrington, brothers, Joe, Nelson and Willie Arrington, and step granddaughter, Crystal Riddle.

The life of Duck Arrington will be remembered and honored in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Bullard will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time on Saturday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Greystone Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Those who will attend are asked to meet by 1:50 PM at Greystone Freewill Baptist Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Dustin Haynes, Charles Haynes, Buster Johnson, Brandon Ramsey, Lucas Riddle, and Brad Riddle.
