Douglas “Doug” Crain

Douglas “Doug” Crain, age 77, of Chucky, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at his home following a brief illness. A native of Erwin, Doug is a son of the late Clyde and Mary (Bennett) Crain.  He retired from CSX Railroad after 32 years of service. He was skilled in woodworking, enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Crain was known for his selfless giving spirit and kindness to all. He will be remembered and missed greatly.

The family respectfully requests your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Douglas “Doug” Crain in a graveside committal service to be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, under the Mausoleum Portico of Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend David Williams will officiate. Those attending should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 12:30 pm to go in procession to Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers are Gerald Webb, Mark Ledford, Levi Shinn, Ken Shinn, Tony Milligan, and Michael Bucchi.
